Kelli E. Canada, PhD, LCSW, is an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri—Columbia, School of Social Work. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Dr. Canada’s research focuses on interventions for people with mental illnesses in the criminal-legal system including the policies and practices impacting recidivism, quality of life, and service utilization. She is the principle investigator of a Robert Wood Johnson funded project studying youth violence prevention and an Urban Institute-funded project examining prison climate and culture
