What is the EIS?

The Ear­ly Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion Sys­tem (EIS) is a uni­ver­sal social behav­ior screen­ing and sup­port sys­tem. We designed the EIS in col­lab­o­ra­tion with our school part­ners to over­come the chal­lenges they report­ed in using exist­ing screen­ers. The EIS includes both teacher (PK-12th grade) and stu­dent rat­ings (3rd-12th grade).

Teacher Checklist

Teach­ers com­plete their EIS check­list in about 10 min­utes for a class of 20 stu­dents. They are sim­ply asked to place a check­mark by any stu­dent they believe might be expe­ri­enc­ing the named risks.

Student EIS

Students complete the EIS in less than 10 minutes. They read a series of items like the one below:

As soon as the rat­ing cycle clos­es, schools have imme­di­ate access to whole school reports as well as indi­vid­ual and teacher-stu­dent com­par­i­son reports.
