Dr. Rachel T. San­ti­a­go com­plet­ed her PhD in School Psy­chol­o­gy at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Ore­gon and her post­doc­tor­al train­ing at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Wisconsin–Madison. Dr. San­ti­a­go is an Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor in the Depart­ment of Edu­ca­tion­al, School & Coun­sel­ing Psy­chol­o­gy at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Mis­souri and a fac­ul­ty affil­i­ate at the Mis­souri Pre­ven­tion Sci­ence Insti­tute. Dr. Santiago’s research focus­es on social–emotional and men­tal health out­comes for youth, with an empha­sis on cul­tur­al­ly respon­sive prac­tices, imple­men­ta­tion sci­ence, family–school–community part­ner­ships, and com­mu­ni­ty-engaged schol­ar­ship. She is PI on two grants explor­ing trau­ma-informed school practices—an Ear­ly Career Research Award fund­ed by the Soci­ety for the Study of School Psy­chol­o­gy, and a Research Coun­cil Grant fund­ed by the Uni­ver­si­ty of Mis­souri. Dr. San­ti­a­go worked as a school psy­chol­o­gist pri­or to enter­ing acad­e­mia and is a licensed school psy­chol­o­gist (MO) and Nation­al­ly Cer­ti­fied School Psychologist.
