The Mis­souri Pre­ven­tion Sci­ence Insti­tute brings com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers and researchers togeth­er to help schools and fam­i­lies apply tech­niques that pro­mote social and aca­d­e­m­ic suc­cess. Through com­mu­ni­ty out­reach, the institute’s staff pro­vides par­ent train­ing and teacher con­sul­ta­tion ser­vices.

MPSI’s mis­sion is to devel­op, imple­ment, eval­u­ate, and dis­sem­i­nate best prac­tices for reduc­ing the preva­lence and soci­etal bur­den of youth aggres­sion and depres­sion using pre­ven­tion sci­ence meth­ods. There are many oppor­tu­ni­ties for stu­dents, par­ents, com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers, prac­ti­tion­ers, researchers, school admin­is­tra­tors, and teach­ers to get involved.
